1 April 2020 was another April Fools’ Day, though with a difference.
Not many people were in practical jokes and hoaxes this year.
In New Zealand, on April Fools’ Day, the nation was on Day six of lockdown. Borders closed, businesses closed except for essentials like supermarkets and pharmacies. Everyone was told to stay home, stay safe and be kind.
We are still allowed to go out for walks getting fresh air and exercise while enjoying the bears around our neighbourhood.
As Kiwis are known for their creativity, in the midst of fighting Coronavirus or Covid 19, people put up teddy bears in their window facing the road or on letterboxes if you live in a house with a long drive like me. In fact, many are overzealous (no joke indeed) that you can see bears on trees, fences and even a whole truckful on the road.
