It’s the second Sunday of May. One special day for all Mothers of the World.
Mine started with a busy day in the kitchen blending my usual morning smoothies and my first try making Savoury Muffins.
Recipe for Savoury Beetroot Muffins with Paneer Cheese will be shared in a separate post.
My girls and their toddlers came round. Thanks, kids for the lovely gifts.
We went for lunch at a newly opened nearby restaurant. From the menu, it looks like Silk Wok is a Szechuan Restaurant. The menu highlight was ‘Fish in a Barrel’. This dish came in a barrel, more than enough for the 6 of us (not counting the 2 toddlers). It has a strong peppercorn taste but quite pleasant. The fish was cut into pieces and full of bones (they were not filleted as shown in the menu). At the bottom of the barrel (beneath the soup), there were many stones, I guess to keep the soup warm and to cook the raw fish. This is a very interesting dish, highly recommended if you do not mind the bones.
The other dishes were nothing out of ordinary. The ambiance was quite nice with two ‘special’ tables in the main hall artistically decorated each with a canopy around it. As it was raining heavily, we walked around the spacious restaurant and discovered it has very neat private rooms each with its own toilet. They named the private room Monday to Friday (5 of them). Very interesting find, a nice place to host a private dinner next time. In the meantime, I am happy to give a 4 rating for this restaurant as a Zomato blogger. To everyone out there, enjoy your Sunday and especially to all Mothers of the World,
Happy Mother’s Day 2019.
