The sun was shining brightly even though Joseph Parker failed to win in the fight against Anthony Joshua early yesterday morning.
No, I did not wake up in time to watch the match, neither did I attend Mass on Easter Sunday. For me, it wasn’t a debate whether to miss or delay mass for the boxing match. I just took it easy . If I wake up in time, we go and watch the boxing match. I am sure God is not pleased with me but He is always gracious no matter what I do and will forgive me (and all sinners) again and again as long as I know that He is God and pray for forgiveness. Amen.
Let’s get on to the highlight of the day.
We headed off to Soljan Estate Winery for brunch and arrived early just before 12 noon. It was daylight savings yesterday and also Soljans Estate Winery’s annual Berba Croatian Harvest Celebration in Kumeu over the Easter weekend.
The lunch menu was a bit limited. We ordered an eggplant sausage dish, something different. The eggs benedict were nice though the hashcake was a bit dry. We still enjoyed the meal. Loved the presentation and creativity. They were quite tasty too.
We sipped our wine after lunch and enjoyed the live music. Love their Sauvignon Blanc, so easy to drink and clear like water.
Took part in grape stomping, getting my feet soaked in grape juice.
Enjoyed watching the Croatian dancers – a celebration dance to celebrate the harvest.
Overall, Soljan Winery was a lovely place to visit. Nice ambience, good service and great food.
