West Coast Trip – Queenstown

I’d rather be in ………………..

Queenstown !

TGIF, yes it’s Friday but ……………..

no, I am not going to Queenstown yet again.

Just reminiscing on our West Coast road trip early this year that ended in Queenstown.  Such a beautiful place that we often visit again and again.   We spent two nights there the last trip and as always, we took a scenic Gondola ride from the Skyline terminal up to Coronet Peak and feasted on the sumptuous buffet spread. A nice treat not to be missed.

We also revisited Arrowtown, a historical gold mining village where history meets nature.

Another must do activity is of course to visit the wineries as Queenstown is the gateway to the Central Otago region where you’ll find 200 vineyards within a 40 minute drive of the town centre.  The Central Otago wine region is made up of six sub-regions; Gibbston, Cromwell/Pisa/Lowburn, Bannockburn, Bendigo, Wanaka and Alexandra, all producing world-class wines.

If given the choice, I’d rather be sipping a glass of the world’s best Pinor Noir in a Queenstown winery than being in front of a computer blogging away !

Till then …….. looking forward to the next return trip hopefully some time soon.
